Allie Daniel is the store owner of Happy Trails Colorado. She is a Life is Good retailer and gift store which provides optimistic t-shirts and merchandise to the community. Her business niche is providing locally made items. “I want to provide for the locals to help the community and keep it local.” – Owner, Allie Daniel. Happy Trails Colorado also offers consignment deals for locally made products.
The idea to start this business happened over a milkshake in Moab after a camping trip. She was in a Life is Good store and always loved their merchandise. They provide good quality, long lasting and soft apparel. She thought Fruita would be the perfect place to bring in a Life is Good store and then the adventure began. Her biggest win this far has been allowing herself the opportunity to overcome insecurities and her business by bringing her out of her comfort zone and becoming more involved and active within the community. Her biggest risk was starting her own business in the first place and all of the lessons that come with it. Allie is good at creating things and making them successful. Starting your own business is risky everyday, but she doesn’t regret any of it. She has learned to say no when it comes to advertising that may not pay off and to stand up for herself.
The work environment and company culture is overall very quiet, but when people walk in you feel a friendly and open environment. She has a better opportunity to build relationships with customers while building loyalty and long lasting friendships. Remember, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! Remember, a Life is Good t-shirt lasts longer than flowers & chocolate! There are several marked down t-shirts in order to make room for new inventory.
If Allie were to have an additional 100k to spend, she would pay off her business debt, take a well deserved vacation and go to Hawaii for her 10 year anniversary, donate to the MS society and then play around with the rest. Her favorite quotes are “I Got This.” and “Do what you love, love what you do.” which is a Life is Good Quote. Feeling inspired yet? Be sure to stop in her shop located just south of Circle Park in Downtown Fruita to pick up your Life is Good and locally made merchandise today!
